BOHEMIA, NY – March 2023 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI), a leading supplier of embedded computing solutions and power supplies, is proud to announce that its Discrete I/O Services Segment (IOSS) Unit of Conformance (UoC) software has achieved FACE® Technical Standard conformance. This milestone represents NAI’s second FACE® conformant UoC and is a significant achievement for the company’s COSA® configurable product line.
The FACE® conformance was achieved as part of NAI’s COSA® (Configurable Open Systems Architecture™) product line, which provides a wide range of configurable, rugged COTS solutions designed to meet the unique requirements of military and aerospace applications. The Discrete IOSS UoC software supports the capabilities implemented within NAI’s multichannel Discrete I/O module library.
“The FACE® Consortium is the preeminent standards body for the avionics industry, and we’re proud to have reached another FACE® conformance milestone,” said Lino Massafra, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at North Atlantic Industries. “Our COSA® product line is built to meet the rigorous demands of military and aerospace applications, and this achievement reflects the quality and reliability of our solutions.”
The FACE® Technical Standard is a widely adopted set of guidelines that establishes a common operating environment for avionics software systems. By conforming to the FACE® Technical Standard, NAI’s Discrete IOSS UoC software enables interoperability across systems, helping customers streamline design, development, and integration efforts.
NAI has a long history of delivering innovative embedded computing solutions to the military and aerospace industries. With this latest FACE® conformance milestone, NAI continues to advance open architecture initiatives by delivering dependable, configurable solutions that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
Discrete I/O multichannel programmable modules provide interfacing solutions for almost any embedded or test application. NAI's discrete I/O modules are offered in two versions: Standard Functionality (SF) modules and Enhanced Functionality (EF) modules. All the modules feature unparalleled programming flexibility, a wide range of operating characteristics, and a unique design that eliminates the need for pull-up resistors or mechanical jumpers. The EF Modules add built-in operational functionality to provide Pulse/Frequency Period Measurements of the incoming signal (Input) and/or Pulse/Frequency arbitrary signal generation (Output).
