BOHEMIA, NY – October 2022 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI), a leading supplier of embedded computing solutions and power supplies, announces the availability of the RG1 IRIG Timecode Receiver and Generator measurement and simulation module.
The RG1 module is designed to support analog and digital IRIG A, B and G receiver and generator functions. The IRIG receiver input function is used to time-synchronize applications to a common system time source. The IRIG generator output function can be used to synchronize other timecode readers. System applications benefiting from integrating IRIG time synchronization include navigation, missile and spacecraft tracking, telemetry systems, as well as general high throughput data acquisition and handling systems that require precise time-tagging across multiple data element sources.
The RG1 ensures precise time management through a continuously running master timer incorporating a precision reference source that reduces potential time drift and provides a stable time reference. In addition, the RG1 integrates a Real Time Clock (RTC) that can be used as an alternate or bridging reference source in environments where network connectivity to a time source is unavailable or intermittent and offers the capability of becoming the master system IRIG clock source.
“The RG1 module has expanded our COSA® processing and I/O systems product portfolio by including accurate time management and synchronization capabilities, reinforcing our commitment in providing our customers with the adaptability, flexibility, and modularity they require to accelerate their time-to-mission.” said Lino Massafra, VP of Sales and Marketing.
IRIG Timecode Receiver and Generator
The RG1 Time Code receiver synchronizes to IRIG-A/B/G time codes and provides precise time in a memory register, for the host SBC. The IRIG output of the card can be used to synchronize other IRIG time code readers.
