North Atlantic Industries Announces High Power, High Efficiency (1000 Watt) VITA 62, 6U AC/DC VPX Power Supply

Conduction-cooled, Programmable, 1000 Watt, 1.0" Pitch 6U VPX PSU which accepts either Three Phase AC or +270VDC Inputs

BOHEMIA, NY – June 23, 2016 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI) announces the availability of its latest 6U rugged VPX power product — the VPX56H-6. Ideally suited for rugged military and aerospace applications, the VPX56H-6 provides up to 1,000 watts of power (CC4 temperature range, full load) with five outputs and is compliant with MIL-STD-704F. Other features include current share, remote error sensing and a built-in EMI filter compliant with MIL-STD-461F — all within a single slot 1.0″ pitch, 6U package. The VPX56H-6 is designed to meet standard 6U VPX mechanical requirements and has VITA 62 compatible keying, outputs & signaling, user programmability, I2C communications, geographical addressing, programmable over-temperature monitor and a five-state, status LED.

“The VPX56H-6 fulfills a unique requirement expressed by our customers by providing an input which accepts either three-phase AC or high voltage (+270VDC) DC input within a VITA 62 compatible product, all while meeting stringent power requirements in a compact rugged COTS package,” said Lino Massafra, VP Sales and Marketing. “Many of today’s military systems rely heavily on high efficiency power supplies that can support OpenVPX requirements and withstand MIL-STD-704 low and high voltage transients. The VPX56H-6 is the latest in a complete line of NAI VPX power converters that support some of today’s most demanding system power requirements.”

Basic pricing configuration starts at $4,501 ea. in quantities of 100. Programmability, I2C communications, remote sense and current share are included.
