North Atlantic Industries Announces High Power, High Efficiency (500 Watt) VITA 62, 3U DC/DC VPX Power Supply

Conduction-cooled, Programmable, 500 Watt, 0.8" Pitch 3U VPX PSU that accepts +28VDC Input (+16VDC to +36VDC continuous)

BOHEMIA, NY – June 23, 2016 -- North Atlantic Industries, Inc. (NAI) announces the availability of its latest 3U rugged VPX power product — the VPX55H-3. Ideally suited for rugged military and aerospace applications, the VPX55H-3 provides up to 500 Watts of power (CC4 temperature range, full load) with six outputs and is compliant with MIL-STD-704F. Other features include current share, remote error sensing and a built-in EMI filter compliant with MIL-STD-461F — all within a single slot 0.8″ pitch, 3U package. The VPX55H-3 is designed to meet standard 3U VPX mechanical requirements and has VITA 62 compatible keying, outputs & signaling, user programmability, I2C communications, geographical addressing, programmable over-temperature monitor, and a five-state, status LED.

“The VPX55H-3 fulfills a unique requirement expressed by our customers by providing an input which accepts +28VDC (+16 to +36VDC continuous) within a VITA 62 compatible product while meeting stringent power requirements in a compact rugged COTS package,” said Lino Massafra, VP Sales and Marketing. “Many of today’s military systems rely heavily on high efficiency power supplies that can support OpenVPX requirements and withstand MIL-STD-704 low and high voltage transients. The VPX55H-3 is the latest in a complete line of NAI VPX power converters that supports some of today’s most demanding system power requirements.” Basic pricing configuration starts at $2,906 ea. in quantities of 100. Programmability, I2C communications, remote sense and current share are included.
