CH1

1 Chassis Manager (ChM) Interface: IPMB (redundant A/B) Chassis Interface, GbE to System Manager Interface with multi-channel GPIO/discrete signals.

The CH1 is a VITA 46.11 Tier-2 compliant Chassis Manager module for NAI multifunction I/O (MFIO) board(s) to serve as the host for a VPX-based system Chassis Management Controller (ChMC). Communicating over the system backplane via the I2C Intelligent Platform Management Bus (IPMB), the Chassis Manager communicates to its host MFIO board and other intelligent Field Replaceable Units (FRUs) optioned with an Intelligent Platform Management Controller (IPMC) within the system chassis. The Chassis Manager communicates to the external higher-level System Manager via 1000BASE-T Ethernet. Under the direction of the System Manager, the Chassis Manager monitors and potentially controls the subsystem chassis FRU’s power, cooling, and health monitoring. The modular design enables seamless integration for the ChMC function allowing for enhanced chassis-system customization and scalability in a wide range of mission-critical applications.
