CB8
8-Channel CAN Bus Interface (CAN 2.0A/B, CAN FD, ARINC 825-4)
The CB8 CAN Bus Function Module provides eight independent CAN communication channels supporting ISO-11898 CAN 2.0A/B and ARINC 825-4 CAN FD protocol implementations. Each channel implements a galvanically isolated CAN interface designed for deterministic, high-reliability communications in aerospace, defense, and industrial embedded systems.
Channels may be independently configured for transmit or receive operation and include advanced message filtering, buffering, and diagnostic capabilities, enabling seamless integration with both legacy and next-generation CAN networks.
As part of NAI’s Configurable Open Systems Architecture™ (COSA®), the CB8 is implemented as a high-performance standard smart function module enabling rapid system configuration across multiple NAI platforms. The CB8 provides the same inboard CAN functionality implemented on NAI platforms such as the 68CB6 motherboard and the NIU3A, NIU3E, and CIU3 systems, ensuring architectural commonality and software reuse across deployed systems.
