3U OpenVPX Multifunction I/O Board

NAI's 68C3 is a rugged 3U OpenVPX multifunction I/O and communication control board with three function module slots, allowing for configurable I/O and communication tasks. Some modules feature FIFO data buffering for enhanced performance. With multiple DSPs, the motherboard delivers higher bandwidth and dedicated pre-processing control for each module. This innovative design eliminates the need for multiple specialized single-function boards, increasing packaging density, saving enclosure slots, and reducing power consumption.

The 68C3 low-power/high-performance board is ideal for rugged defense, commercial aerospace, and industrial applications. In a VPX chassis, it acquires sensor measurement data, controls simulation signals, and sends information to an external host processor via Gigabit Ethernet (Gig-E) or PCIe. The board's preexisting, fully-tested functions can be easily combined in unlimited ways, with each I/O function having dedicated processing to unburden the system's Single Board Computer (SBC) from unnecessary data management overhead.
