Internship Programs


Engineering

Interns will have the unique opportunity to actively contribute to projects that support applications in commercial aerospace, defense and industrial sectors. NAI's engineering internship program encompasses a wide range of engineering disciplines, include Test Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and beyond. NAI's manufacturing internship program offers opportunities in Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Inventory and Stock Control, Machining, Production Planning, and Quality Analysis. IT Helpdesk

Interns will work on impactful projects that yield tangible business outcomes, offering a hands-on platform for skill development. The business internship program provides opportunities in key departments like Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Human Resources and Finance. The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences opened a new engineering teaching lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, thanks to generous funding from industry partner North Atlantic Industries, Inc. In a special ceremony on November 12, 2018, the “North Atlantic Industries Engineering Teaching Lab” was dedicated as a facility for middle and high school students, Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Honors program for pre-college students, evening undergraduate and graduate courses, master’s level courses for high school teachers, summer camps for high school students, professional development and more. FIRST Robotics Team

Across Long Island

FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a high school robotics program designed to motivate students to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. Over the years, NAI has helped launch over 10 FIRST Robotics programs in school districts across Long Island. NAI continues to be actively involved in the FIRST program by sponsoring local high school robotics programs and the Long Island Regional competition. NAI hopes to encourage more young people to enter STEM fields and to help students develop life skills and self-confidence by sponsoring and mentoring FIRST Robotics programs.
