Summary
Senior technician performs a variety of duties in the test area. Technician will be able to troubleshoot, test, calibrate and maintain associated systems for the company. Technician will have the aptitude and ability to work from written, as well as verbal, instructions and procedures including schematics and test procedures.
Responsibilities
Performs variety of electronic tests to component level to ensure end units and sub-assemblies function according to specifications or to determine case of unit failure.
Analyzes test results on defective units to determine root cause of failure, applying knowledge of electronic theory and experience using electronic test equipment.
Confers with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding test procedures and results to resolve problems.
Suggests improvements in work methods and procedures by discussing ideas with co-workers and supervisor.
Explains and demonstrates testing procedures to other technicians and assists in the training of lower grade technicians.
Evaluate and /or troubleshoot with customers over the phone and in person using excellent customer service skills in support of customer.
Assesses and monitors test equipment, test documentation and processes used to meet the production schedules. Makes recommendations for additions or improvements in these areas. Improvements to quality and cost are readily identified in this position.
Plans, coordinates and schedules work flow of production and customer service modules, assemblies and end units through the test department.
Utilize lot tracker/FPY software to track yields on production lots of mother boards and modules.
Review data and define potential corrective actions/solutions.
Experience / Education
AAS in Electronic Technology, Technical School graduate or equivalent experience / military training.
A minimum of ten years experience in a production test, customer service or engineering environment utilizing a wide variety of test equipment.
In depth knowledge and understanding of analog and digital circuitry with the ability to troubleshoot to component level and resolve complex problems.
Required Skills
Must be fluent in written English. Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to exchange information with others clearly and concisely.
Must be able to work under tight production schedules with changing priorities. Must be computer literate. Must be able to work independently in multifaceted, high paced environment, interfacing with all levels of company personnel.
