The SIU3-5 incorporates our single board computer, high density multi-function I/O and power supply products and offers unprecedented Intelligent I/O™ in an integrated, compact, conduction-cooled system for data acquisition, distribution and processing applications. Our unique modular architecture supports a wide selection of different I/O functions such as Digital I/O (Discrete, TTL or Differential), Analog I/O (A/D, D/A, RTD, Strain Gage), 3-Axis Motor Control, Sensor Interfaces (Synchro/Resolver/LVDT/RVDT Measurement and Simulation, Encoder/Counter) and Communication Interfaces including synchronous/asynchronous RS232/422/485, MIL-STD-1553, CANBus and ARINC429/575. In addition, a 12-port Layer 2+ Ethernet Switch is available. Configured with up to five cPCI boards, system integrators can confidently manage, monitor and process a host of sensor interfacing requirements using NAI’s flexible, leading-edge, fully programmable and continuous background built-in-test (BIT) enabled function modules. Features and benefits include: I/O data can be formatted and packetized for immediate use by the system or mission processor. Specific routines can be implemented for individual data channels. A typical example would be an average of data over a specified number of samples. Routines can be implemented for multiple data channel monitoring and event handling. For example, allow a discrete channel activation to output a specific D/A channel.
